React and Vue are both used for large interface codebases. Choosing between them is an engineering and staffing decision, not a statement about which framework is more “enterprise.” This note stays with what the projects document about their own models.

React

React’s learn guide describes applications as components: JavaScript functions that return markup, usually written in JSX. Data is rendered from JavaScript values. State is explicit. useState returns the current value and a function that updates it, and React renders the component again with the new value. Shared state is lifted to a common parent and passed down as props. The model is deliberately close to ordinary JavaScript, which is why teams often pair it with a separate router, data library, and styling approach. React quick start

Vue

Vue’s introduction describes a declarative, component-based model on top of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Templates declare the HTML output from JavaScript state, and Vue tracks that state so the document updates when it changes. Single-file components put script, template, and style in one .vue file. Vue documents two API styles over the same runtime: the Options API, organized as data, methods, and lifecycle hooks, and the Composition API, which declares reactive state in functions. Vue’s own guidance is that both styles are capable, and that Composition API with single-file components is the usual choice for full applications. Vue can also be added to a page without a build step. Vue introduction

How to choose

Prefer the framework already in the codebase unless there is a concrete reason to leave it. A second framework doubles hiring, review, and security-patching work. If the team is starting, look at who will maintain the interface, whether server rendering is required, and how much of the surrounding stack the team wants to choose itself. React leaves more of that stack open. Vue includes a template and reactivity model and an official path for single-file components. Neither choice fixes API design, accessibility, or state that has been copied into too many places.

Interface technology is also not the AI platform. A React or Vue application can call an API that runs inference. It should not embed credentials for enterprise systems in the browser, and it should not be described as the orchestration layer. See the platform article for that boundary.
